Shortly after the shocking announcement of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s divorce, Chinese media outlets were quick to speculate that the split was due to the fact that the Korean stars were unfaithful. While there have been murmurs of trouble in paradise for months now, these rumours are finding new life after the couple announced their divorce. This, despite Song Hye Kyo’s official statement that they were filing for divorce due to “differences in personalities”.
In 2016, and got hitched in a secret wedding ceremony the following year, and have headed for splitsville just a couple months shy of their second wedding anniversary. But even as early as February, Chinese media had reported that Joong Ki had been allegedly having an affair with Hye Kyo’s make-up artist for six months. Reporters also suspected that Song Joong Ki and the woman may have been planning for a love nest, after noticing that she had begun to follow several interior design social media accounts.
The woman in question isn’t just responsible for painting Hye Kyo’s famous pretty mug, she’s also reportedly the actress’ BFF and had even attended the couple’s wedding. After the rumours arose, she posted this selfie with Hye Kyo, seemingly in a bid to pooh-pooh the rumours.

Co-star Park Bo Gum (above) also surface. Bo Gum has denied any involvement via a statement released by his management. “We are planning to take strict legal action against the rumours being spread around in regard to Park Bo-gum, shortly after news of Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki's divorce became a huge topic, ” the statement read. ‘It seems that such rumours were fabricated as Song Hye-kyo and Park Bo Gum recently worked on a production together. We are also in the process of discussing legal action against other rumours outside of the recent divorce rumours.”
Rumours of the couple’s divorce started swirling earlier this year, when Hye Kyo was spotted numerous times without her wedding ring. However, Joong Ki was spotted with his wedding band at a script reading session for his latest drama,
South Korean media outlets have reported that neighbours had noticed the lack of trash outside the couple’s S$12 mil home. “They haven’t been taking out the trash for a long time, ” one of their neighbours said, leading to speculation that they might have been living apart for some time prior to the announcement.

According to a Taiwanese media outlet, Apple Daily, Song Joong-Ki was having an extra-marital affair with Song Hye-Kyo’s make-up artist. The media outlet claimed that he was involved in adulterous relationship with her for six months before his wife found out.
The Taiwanese website even reported that Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo’s make-up artist had a plan to have their own ‘love nest’ where they can get together when they want to but their plan didn’t get success when his wife found out.

Even it was claimed in another reportthat Song Hye-Kyo was having an affair with her co-star and leading young actor Park Bo-gum. However, both the parties have declined such rumours. The 26-year-old Park Bo-gum’s agency warned people that it would take strict legal action for those who are spreading false news and allegations. As for the make-up artist rumoured with Song Joong-Ki, she took a selfie photo with Song Hye-Kyo to debunk the affair rumours, EconoTimes noted.
However, we don’t believe in such rumours based on some news only. We continue to believe that Song Hye-Kyo and Song Joong-Ki separated for finding difference in personalities between the two.
